Our Church

Service Ministry Teams

Our Service Ministry Teams are inspired individuals or groups of people who willingly devote themselves to service. Many are called, often to serve on multiple Ministry Teams. Our teams are divided into six groups:

Sunday Worship Service
Bulletins Ministry Prepare bulletins for our worship service with any inserts.
Facilities Ministry Open up the community center for the service and Sunday School in preparation for other volunteers, Clean and lock up.
Flower Ministry Prepare floral displays to enhance our services.
Invited Speaker Program Ministry Work to build and develop our Dynamic Speaker Program to present messages from Unity and like-minded spiritual leaders.
Music Ministry Share your talents to inspire and uplift during services through song or instrument.
Platform Assistants/Service Coordination Ministry Present all or some of the 'Welcome', 'Announcements', 'Daily Word', 'Statement of Truth' and 'Scripture' for our worship service; provide support for invited speakers. Help create a seamless service; coordinate Sunday morning service team; responsible for collection of offering.
Refreshments Ministry Prepare and set up coffee, tea and snacks; take down after services.
Service Set Up Ministry Prepare the sanctuary for worship service, set up chairs, welcome table, information table, candles, manage lights, take down chairs and tables after service and store materials
Sound Ministry Operate the sound system during services; do sound checks for soloists before service.
Usher/Greeter Ministry Greet and make all Sunday Service attendees feel welcome; hand out bulletins; take up offering; tidy up after services.
Welcome Packet Ministry Prepare new visitor welcome packets that include introductory material on our church and the Unity movement.
Special Events
Hospitality Ministry Provide refreshments for special events.
Social Events Planning Ministry Develop and provide social events
Special Events Planning Ministry Develop and execute special services. E.g. Christmas Candlelight Service, Membership Sunday, Thanksgiving Feast.
Education
Adult Classes Ministry Coordinate and facilitate Adult Classes in general.
Introduction to Unity Class Ministry Present core ideas for new members on Unity and our Church.
Sunday School Ministry Teach Sunday School or assist the Sunday School teachers.
Tuesday Study Group Ministry Coordinate and facilitate Tuesday morning study group. Meets 11:00 am.
Women's Group Ministry Coordinate and facilitate church women in studies and prayer. Meets 1st and 3rd Wednesdays.
Y.O.U. Ministry Teach our youths the principles of Unity teachings through outreach, rallies and study.
Public Relations
Advertising Ministry Place promotional material and advertising in local media to help people find our church services.
Newsletter Ministry Write, create and compile articles and images for and mail out the Unity Beacon newsletter.
Signs Ministry Place and remove signs to help visitors find us on Sundays.
Web Site Ministry Update our internet presence with the latest activities and notices of the next exciting events.
Spiritual Relations
Care Team Ministry Provide means of ongoing contact with congregants, fostering a sense of belonging and family within our church; provide our congregation with swift, caring contact, support and assistance according to their needs.
Community Outreach Ministry Develop and execute projects to support the community through organizing collections, providing volunteer labor, refreshments or other support.
Lunch Bunch Ministry Develop and maintain a list of locations for the Lunch Bunch that meet for lunch after service each Sunday (when there's not a special event).
Prayer Ministry Pray over Prayer Requests and forward to Silent Unity.
Finance
Book Keeping Ministry Record all financial transactions and provide reports as needed for the Board. Deposits funds, prepares checks to pay bills and paid positions. Tracks finances.
Budgeting Prepare and review budgets to support church goals and activities.
Counting Ministry With a Board Member, count the contributions received during services.
