Our Church
Mission, Vision & Values
A Vision Team from our church worked diligently over the Summer of 2002 to focus their thoughts and energies on developing new Mission, Vision and Values (MVV) for our church. This MVV shapes our church now and for the near future and we hope inspires us to higher achievements. On September 14, the team came together in a one day retreat to formulate what you see here. On October 20, the congregation reviewed, made one adjustment to add 'change' to 'lives' in the Mission statement and confirmed the proposals. Our MVV represents the heart felt consciousness of our dedicated members and congregants. Following the formulation of our MVV, we addressed the issue of our church name and after examining many possibilities decided that Unity Church of Practical Christianity most represented the MVV. Since the recommended new church name constituted a bylaw change, we approved it at our Annual Membership Meeting in January 2003.Our Mission is the reason for our existence, our Vision is how we want to fulfill the Mission, an affirmation of what we will be, and our Values are how we will conduct ourselves in pursuit of our Mission.
In addition, we adopted the Statement of Faith - an expression of the Unity Teachings.
